Thats exactly how we see it, and what you can expect when coming to us for a newborn session. Newborns as ART. Artistically posed, styled, photographed and edited. We strive to make your experience with us one that you will not soon (if ever) forget. We want you to feel taken care of, and your baby too. We want you to feel welcomed and at ease during the newborn photography experience. We'll go over all the styling information and requests ahead of time and be set up and ready prior to your arrival. A quality newborn photography session takes about three hours. It takes time to create a relaxed atmosphere for the baby and to be able to transition from pose to pose, while allowing for plenty of feeding and soothing breaks as needed. Each and every baby we meet is different and we want to create timeless images for you to look back on many many years from now and cherish as much as you did when you first saw them.
Myself and my assistant ( who is there for EVERY newborn session) are fully focused on our craft and your babies safety and comfort during the entirety of the session. We are Moms first, and we don't take it lightly that you'll be just days out of the hospital and coming to see us and entrusting us to work with your precious new baby. We'll be there to put your mind at ease completely, and have spent several years perfecting our careers focusing on newborn photography in this great WNY region. Aside from our goal of creating art while we skillfully work with your baby, we want parents to feel completely relaxed and at ease. For many, its their first opportunity to fully relax after leaving the hospital, while we do all the work, an even fall asleep during the time in our lounge are. **PS- we're still masking for all newborn sessions indefinitely. This isn't political for us, or even covid-focused. It's baby-focused, and newborns will be in clean safe hands with us.

FAQ
When should we book a newborn session?
We suggest the sooner to better... We tend to book a few months in advance. Especially because of the level of unpredictability involved with babies actual arrival as opposed to their due dates we can only commit to a set number of due dates each month to ensure we have availability when baby makes their appearance. Most often we suggest reaching out in your second trimester.
What if I want a maternity session?
First I'll say this...you won't regret it. We encourage it with all mommas as a chance to celebrate their bump and also as a chance to meet us prior to the newborn session as it always builds an extra layer of trust.
How long are newborn sessions?
This can vary as all babies are different, but for a full newborn session we suggest pre-planning for a 3 hour timeframe at our studio. You'll quickly realize how it can take 45 minutes for a feeding and sometimes several diapers involved in a session etc. We take our time with the babies and its a slow and tedious and gentle process going between different poses while keeping the baby asleep.
When are newborn sessions scheduled?
We schedule newborn sessions, officially, once baby arrives and we hear from the parents in the hospital. We then schedule something M-F typically at 10:00 am within the first two weeks of babys life ( sometimes this can be extended but we've found best results with sleepiest baby in this age range).
We do not photograph newborns ever on evenings as they're often in their "witching hour and won't produce the same results.
Can we be included with the baby for some images?
YES! We also encourage this. Its understandable if you're not feeling up to it but if you're on the fence then lets just give it a whirl. Wear a plain shirt and be included in the session. Heres why it won't hurt....1- Its our job to make you look your best for your images so no worries there 2- afterwards you get to view your images and if you'd prefer selecting images that are of baby-only then simply dont select the ones including yourself ( though we've not experienced this).
***Please note- family images with baby is only offered with the full newborn session and not the wrapped mini session due to restricted timeframe***
How does it all work?
-you reach out and we get your due date held on our calendar and start with an official booking email that will require a retainer to be paid, and a standard photography contract as well as a questionnaire for likes/dislikes for the session.
- you reach out when baby is born and we get everything officially scheduled
- we setup ahead of time so you simply walk in and let us take over, we even change diapers ( we say the only thing you need to bring is a fully stocked diaper bag with extras of the essentials and the rest we have taken care of)
-we photograph the session while you relax ( final payment is due at this time)
- within approx 1 week of the session you'll receive a proofing gallery in your email with a slideshow created for you to view your proofs to music. This is where you pick your favorites and have an option to purchase any additional digital images.
-The proofing gallery is then removed and the chosen images are meticulously re-touched to our professional standards and then sent back in a new final gallery within 3 weeks of your selection
Do you offer print products?
Absolutely and we cannot recommend this enough. I'm not sure what's worse- the idea that some may ultimately let their newborns photos die on a hard drive somewhere or that they could be printed horribly at a consumer lab. Lets avoid both of these scenarios and get you the best print products on the market. Professional prints are available for purchase directly from your final gallery while we also offer plenty of other unique products like metal prints, wall collections, frames, and albums. All of which are displayed at our studio for you to look thru while you're with us.
