anxiety leading up to session
Client anxiety leading up to a boudoir session is like a 90% certainty so you're not alone! Whats funny, is when we first started offering these sessions we wanted to have our extra warm blowing heaters in the shooting space knowing women would be on concrete floors and backdrops, with no socks, and not many clothes. We thought they'd be chilly and have a hard time relaxing. Ummm, duh, wrong! You guessed it- most of the women run pretty darn warm during these sessions. so, we've lived and learned and will no longer make our clients sweat these sessions ( literally! lol... our heart was in the right place though LOL)
Anywho, now that we know the studio is the perfect 70 degrees, lets move on to the other worries women have during and leading up to the session.... NUMBER ONE THING--- women don't feel sexy. Between media, and social media, and all the other darn things, some of us ( read- MOST) feel "less-than".... The comparison game sucks!!! But truly, those type of women, who need a pick-me-up are my ideal client. They're the ones with the most to gain from a session like these. They get to walk away looking and feeling and proving that they're a badass. That they were nervous about something, did it anyway, and freakin loved it! WIN WIN WIN. While some of the images we shoot are definitely sexy, we want them to be mostly classic and classy and something you can show you mom, aunt, cousin, husband, kids, you name it! We want you to want to display these images and your awesomeness anywhere and everywhere. Not to go thru all the trouble and tuck these away to be seen once or twice again. OWN IT.
The women who dont feel sexy- we gotchu boo boo! One of our biggest draws to these sessions is the risk free part. Meaning, you get to see your full session in its entirety, and you get to be in control of the images that you choose for your final gallery. So, if you hate your mouth in that one angle, or your whatever in the other angle, dont pick it. They're never seen again, case closed. So the freedom that brings is this- you can rest a bit more assured that 1- we know what we're doing and 2- try that pose that feels awkward and we dare you not to love it but if ya dont, then no skin off your back and you'll leave with plenty of others. So you're free to relax during your session, knowing that not every single image has to be killer. Professional models dont nail every pose or every shoot, so we sure as heck dont expect you to! We've also found that laugher looks great on camera, so its cool to laugh at yourself, we even encourage and guide it. Im kinda funny, so it'll be natural for you to laugh at me occasionally.
