I love so much about this session. I love all the colors and that she's a December baby and we were able to do some subtle Christmas theme images for her parents.
We had the opportunity to get to know her parents at their maternity session in the fall and the leaves were breathtaking. As I write that I have to go dig up one of my favorite images to add to this post before sharing. Her momma, that color dress, baby in belly, and THAT tree. To die for. Again, we cannot emphasize enough how awesome it is to do maternity sessions and have the chance to meet parents before their newborn arrives. It really just makes everything so much more fluid at the newborn session. They've gotten to meet us and see what its like to be in front of our camera. They've heard some of our corny jokes and prompts we give to pose and get genuine smiles etc. They get to know that we are also moms and can relate to them ( ummm two words- mom.brain. Enough said right? It starts at pregnancy and we laugh with the moms when we ask if they've experienced it. And of course the men usually chuckle too because it seems like a fallacy. Ohhhhh but its so so so real lol). We build a level of trust between us so that when its time for that newborn session they feel complete comfort in handing over their precious cargo and watch as we do our thing ( ORRRR nap while we do our thing, whatever they feel). And we always look forward to watching their family grow over the next year, and beyond.
