winter in summer session
Okay, July 2021 has been WEIRD for weather, am I right or what?!?! One day its 95 million degrees, the next I'm wearing my North Face coat for a family session ( umm this family session to be exact! So note- Moms gotta be cold but we cant ever let on to that in front of the kids lol).
We got down to the lake about an hour and a half before this scheduled session and it was brisk to say the least, and WINDY. Ya know, all the things you want for your family session right? (not!) But thankfully when this crew showed up and we told them we'd find some areas out of the wind to take some pictures (and once we got the kids warmed up with jumping jacks) it was all good. Thankful for our clients and their trust in us when things don't seem ideal. And look at the beautiful resulting images we got! Clearly theres no way of being out of the wind at the beach however, but I'm pretty obsessed with the stormy skies from this night as well, they're a whole mood. And as with all our family sessions we really aim to get a good variety in the time we have together. A mix between fun and playful images as well as the standard posed shots. Letting kids be kids while still getting a Christmas card photo for grandparents. All of these images were taken within a few minutes drive of each other and still offer plenty of different scenery and variety. Oh, and incase you didnt know- we love setting ourselves apart and offering a decent variety in our client wardrobe too. The dresses both of the girls are wearing came from our client closet and help to really complete everyones look, and they both look perfect in them!
